Andriko Noto Susanto dan Sri Wahidah Prahastuti Recearch to determine erosion risk indeks and its control have conducted on Nusalaut island, Saparua district of Central Maluku regency. This recearch used a survey method, with observation of rigid grid on flat areas dan a flexible grid on undulating to mountainous areas. Observation points were made between 100 by 100 metre strips. The soil, land use, slope length, slope gradient, soil conservation control and appearance of the erosion was recorded at one point in the strip. Point observations to determine soil properties have used boring, mini pit and profile pit. The result of the research showed that actual erosion value is 0.2 – 31,484 ton.ha-1.th-1 with soil loss tolerance between 11.3 to 46.9 ton.ha-1.th-1.
