Agroecological Zone In Mollucas Archipelago

      Three main requirements to do a feasibility farming is (1) The biophysical supported by the availability / suitability of land that could potentially obtain high productivity and decrease risk of environmental damage (2) Socially acceptable to society, can be cultivated and the impact on increasing employment in order to reduce the number of unemployed and (3) The economic benefits that have an impact on increasing income and welfare of the community. In connection with this matter, BPTP Maluku under the direction of World Bank consultants develop Agroecological Zone Map scale 1: 250,000 for the whole of the Mollucas and North Mollucas provinces. In this map restricted to some areas of plantation farming, agriculture, wetlands, upland farming, pasture, forestry, agro-forestry, coastal forests and coastal fisheries.

The results of this work is stored in the form of maps, available at author and BPTP Maluku, and five books :
  1. Potential Alternative Land Agricultural Commodities and Their Chosen by agroecological zone maps in Every District in Buru. BPTP - Maluku. 2003 (Susanto, A.N and S. Bustaman),
  2. Potential Alternative Land With Selected Agricultural Commodities base on the agroecological Zone Map in Each District in Southeast Maluku. BPTP - Maluku 2003 (Susanto, A.N and S. Bustaman),
  3. Potential Alternative Land Agricultural Commodities and Their Chosen by agroecological zone maps in Every District in West Southeast Maluku. BPTP - Maluku 2003 (Susanto, A.N and S. Bustaman),
  4. Potential Alternative Land With Selected Agricultural Commodities Based on the agroecological Zone Map Every district in Central Maluku. BPTP - Maluku 2003 (Bustaman, Susan S. and A.N Susanto),
  5. Land and Their Potential Alternatives Selected Agricultural Commodities Under the agroecological Zone Map in Each District in Ambon City. BPTP - Maluku 2003 (Bustaman, S. and A.N Susanto).

A total of 300 pieces of printed books for each title has been absorbed by policy makers, students and academics, but the archives are still available at the Library of BPTP Moluccas and the author.
